SHIPS SHELTERING OFF SHETLAND

Shetland is in the grip of an icy blast of bitter arctic winds with northerly gales and heavy snow showers at present and shipping is being affected by this.

A number of vessels have been seeking more sheltered waters in the last 24 hours as they wait for the swell to ease... these are as follows....

MAERSK FEEDER (DODGING EAST OF SHETLAND)
SUBSEA VIKING
FAUSTINA (CARGO VESSEL, SHELTERED OFF LEVENWICK)
NORRONA (PASSENGER FERRY, SHELTERED OFF LEVENWICK)
NorthLink's ferries Hjaltland and Hascosay both sailed to Aberdeen last night however the ferries from Aberdeen cancelled due to high seas.
