Last Saturday saw the annual Lerwick lifeboat open day take place. With glorious weather prevailing alongside the usual fundraising events the traditional Round Bressay & Noss cruise courtesy of NorthLink Ferries also took place. Here are a selection of photos from that trip.

The Lerwick lifeboat Michael and Jane Vernon stalks the Hjaltland.

The Isle of Noss as seen from distance.

Sumburgh based coastguard helicopter Oscar Charlie hoovers above the packed decks for all to see.

Winching exercise in full swing, brave men these guys!!

The Noup of Noss better known as "seabird city"

Close encounter....Hjaltland dwarfed by the noup.....

Heading home....the lifeboat escorts the ferry heading for the North entrance.

Hjaltland aproaching Lerwick from the North, a first time for the ferry.

Thousands of pounds were raised during the day, a big thank you to NorthLink and Shetland Coastguard for a great day.....
