Sisters grace port

As seen from the Alexander von Humboldt the two biggest Tall Ships on this leg of the races faces each other at a rather windy Holmsgarth. The Dar Mlodziezy & Mir have been attracting large visitors onboard, keen to experience the thrill of being on one of these magnificent vessels.

As for myself the stand out ships that i have visited are the Columbian Gloria purely for the amazing hospitality of the officers and crew, and for sentimental reasons the Humboldt on her final visit to Shetland before her retirement in October.

The parade of sail starts tomorrow from 11am, but with the weather as it is (almost gale force northerlies) there may be the chance of changes to that schedule for safety reasons. Also due in port tomorrow is the large cruise liner Crystal Serenity, however as with anything connected to Shetland the weather may yet have a say in that also.
