Click to enlargeThe Long Sand about to leave Lerwick Harbour to dump spoil recovered during dredging operations. Her sister Cork Sand has already left the islands. The new wider deeper navigation channel will allow large ships to pass straight through the harbour regardless of tidal conditions.
