Hello Richard, its been quite a while since I last contacted you. I have regularly visited your blog, mainly for the Lerwick waterfront photos, and enjoyed watching the changing face of Shetland weather... We are in autumn here in Perth but you wouldn't believe it.The sun is shining brightly 27C and virtually no rain yet this year, but the met people say it could change mid next week.
It is amazing how quick the year is passing by, I'll be turning 65 soon and have no idea where the last 40 years have gone, never understood my parents saying that the years pass by, but now I do. In your previous mail you said your Father visited Perth in the 60's, it has changed greatly since then, but the finance crash has brought this resource based economy crashing down and recession is now a serious threat. Much of my retirement funds vanished in the share market crash but no use crying about it.
Might even make it to the UK in either 2010 or 11, my wife says I should make a trip home before I get much older so will have to give it serious consideration.

Most pleased to hear your keeping up with events with the blog, i enjoy putting bits and pieces online here. The past two months here have been exceptional by Shetland standards, with April the third driest on record, and May being equally settled.
I hope your well, I did mention to my dad that someone from Perth had been in touch and he had nothing but praise for the friendliness of the Australian people when he was there. I may if im lucky get round to that part of the world one day!
