2009 CRUISE SHIPS

A provisional list of cruise ships due in Lerwick next year has been released yesterday. The 33 ships are due call between May and September with some noteable arrivals.

The season kicks of with the Deutschland on the 14th May and concludes with a visit from the Marco Polo on the 24th September.

During the summer Shetland will be visited by these liners on maiden calls to the islands: AIDAcara, Azamara Journey, Regatta, Alexander Von Humboldt, Costa Magica, Boudicca, Tahitan Princess, Artemis, and Crown Princess.

Despite the 33 booked others have yet to and it is expected that the final total will be over 40 in line with previous years.

Once additional ports around Shetland are included in the grand total it makes Shetland one of Europe's most popular calls for cruise liners.
