In a welcome early season boost to the Shetland Islands, and the port of Lerwick, the cruise ship Discovery will visit twice in March & April 2014 on " Northern Lights" cruises. This will be the first time a Northern Lights cruise has called in Shetland, where on many occasions the Aurora Borealis can be seen.

The concept of mid winter cruising in Northern Europe, to discover the Northern Lights is rapidly growing in popularity with many lines now scheduling these sailings into their itineraries. Furthermore the Discovery is also due to call another 4 times during the regular season, totalling 8 visits altogether in what is shaping up to be a bumper cruise year.
