As the above photos show work is progressing nicely on the new quay extension at Lerwick Harbour's Greenhead Base.
The new quay face is clearly seen in the top photo with concrete decking now on top of the piles. The bottom photo shows what will be the dog leg turn with another quay wall heading towards the right past the red crane.
The new berths will enhance facilities at the base and will be 9 meters in depth. Berths 5&6 will also be deepened to 9 meters at the same time to offer continuous berthing depth alongside the whole base.
