Scalloway record breaker

Early this morning the Fugro Symphony paid her second visit to Scalloway Harbour in as many weeks whilst working to the West of Shetland at the Schiehallion field.

The vessel at 130 metres in length, weighing 11,324 is believed to be the biggest ship to come alongside in Scalloway ever, and with calling at the West side port will have saved time and money steaming to her usual port call in Lerwick.

The recent upturn in activity in Scalloway Harbour will be a welcome boost to the cash strapped local council which operate the port.
